Yiannis Maniatis is a Member of the European Parliament, elected in 2024, and Vice-President of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists & Democrats (S&D). He serves as Head of the PASOK–KINAL delegation in the European Parliament.

Born in 1959, he holds a PhD in engineering and combines academic expertise with extensive governmental experience. He previously served as Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change of Greece (2013–2015), where he played a central role in shaping Greece’s energy strategy, advancing hydrocarbon exploration frameworks, and strengthening regional energy cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean.
