Hryhoriy Nemyria

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Ukrainian Parliament; f. Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine

Hryhoriy Nemyria is a prominent Ukrainian politician, currently serving as a senior member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Verkhovna Rada. He has previously held the position of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and is an expert in international relations, playing a key role in Ukraine’s European integration efforts and diplomatic response to regional security crises.

A seasoned statesman and academic, Nemyria served as Deputy Prime Minister (2007–2010), during which he spearheaded negotiations for the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement. His parliamentary career includes multiple senior roles, notably as Chairman of the Committees on European Integration and on Human Rights, where he helped shape Ukraine’s legislative alignment with European standards.

Beyond domestic politics, Nemyria has been a crucial interlocutor between Ukraine and international organizations including the European Union, NATO, and the OSCE. Holding a PhD in History with a background in international relations, he is widely respected for his strategic analysis of Eastern European geopolitics and his steadfast advocacy for Ukraine’s democratic sovereignty and territorial integrity.
