Faisal J. Abbas is a leading Middle East media executive and geopolitical commentator. As the Editor-in-Chief of Arab News, the region’s premier English-language daily, he has transformed the publication into a primary reference point for international diplomats, defense analysts, and policymakers. Under his leadership, Arab News has expanded its global footprint with bureaus across Asia and Europe, providing critical on-the-ground reporting on regional security and diplomatic affairs.
In 2024, Abbas was elected Deputy Chairman of the Saudi Journalists Association, where he leads strategic initiatives to modernize the Kingdom’s media landscape and industry standards. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Al Arabiya News Channel and a frequent commentator on international networks, including CNN, BBC, and Sky News, offering expert analysis on Gulf security, Iran-Saudi relations, and Western-Arab strategic partnerships.
Abbas is a regular contributor to global platforms such as Semafor Gulf, focusing on the intersection of media, policy, and regional stability. He has conducted exclusive interviews with numerous world leaders and heads of state, bridging the communication gap between the Middle East and the West.
His contributions to international dialogue have earned him the Next Century Foundation’s Cutting-Edge Award (2009) and the Rawabi Holding Award (2025) for his role in strengthening Saudi-British relations.
Abbas is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders and an Associate Fellow of the Cambridge Union Society. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Westminster and is a graduate of the Executive Education Program at the Harvard Kennedy School (Global Leadership and Public Policy) and the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge.
