Aristotelia Peloni

Director of International Strategic Planning & Communications to the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic

Aristotelia Peloni is a prominent Greek political strategist, communications expert, and former journalist, currently serving as the Director of International Strategic Planning and Communication for the Prime Minister of Greece. Her career is defined by a unique transition from high-level political reporting to the core of government decision-making and international representation.

Her journey began in 1998 at the historic daily newspaper “Ta Nea”, where she spent nearly two decades as a political and diplomatic correspondent. In 2016, she joined the prestigious “Kathimerini”, further establishing her reputation for astute political analysis. This extensive experience in media provided the foundation for her entry into politics in January 2020, when she was appointed Deputy Government Spokesperson. In March 2021, she assumed the pivotal role of Government Spokesperson, acting as the administration’s primary voice during the complex challenges of the pandemic and critical national issues.

Peloni’s political career is underpinned by a distinguished academic background. She holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from Panteion University, specializing in Greece-US relations, as well as a Master’s degree in the same field. She is an alumna of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she studied Communication and Media. Her expertise is further enhanced by prestigious international distinctions; she is a Marshall Memorial Fellow at the German Marshall Fund and an alumna of the US State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).

In her current role within the Prime Minister’s Office, she leverages her deep understanding of foreign policy and strategic communication to manage Greece’s international positioning.
