Benita Ferrero-Waldner

Benita Ferrero-Waldner is a distinguished Austrian diplomat and politician who has held prominent roles at both national and international levels. Her career is highlighted by her tenure as Austria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs (2000–2004) and her service as the European Commissioner for External Relations (2004–2009) and Trade (2009–2010). Prior to these roles, she broke ground as the Chief of Protocol at the United Nations under Boutros Boutros-Ghali and narrowly contested the Austrian presidency in 2004. In the private sector, she has sat on the boards of major corporations like Munich Re and Gamesa, while continuing to foster international cooperation as the President of the Euroamerica Foundation.
