General Konstantinos Floros

Senior Advisor, ANTENNA GROUP; f. Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff

General Konstantinos Floros is a Greek army officer who served as Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff in 2020–2024. He is recognized for his leadership during a period of heightened tensions in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean, as well as overseeing significant upgrades in the Hellenic Armed Forces.

He joined the Hellenic Military Academy in 1979 and graduated in 1983 as an Infantry Lieutenant. Early in his career, he served as Platoon Leader and Company Commander in infantry units, including on Samos Island. From 1986 onward, he pursued a Special Forces path, completing all Greek SF courses, including the Hellenic Navy Underwater Demolition Team, and the U.S. Special Forces Qualification Course at Fort Bragg. He held key command and staff roles in elite amphibious, marine, and airborne units through the 1990s.

From the late 1990s to mid-2000s, he specialized in intelligence and operations, attending the War College in Thessaloniki, serving in Special Operations headquarters, commanding a Special Amphibious Battalion, and representing Greece at NATO SHAPE in Belgium. Upon returning to Greece, he completed the National Defence College and led Special Operations planning at the Hellenic National Defence General Staff.

Promoted to Brigadier General in 2012, he commanded the 13th Special Operations Command, later serving as Director of Land Operations and Operations Branch Chief at the Hellenic National Defence General Staff. He was subsequently appointed Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief, and Commander of the 1st Hellenic Army/EL EU-OHQ, before being promoted to General and assuming duties as Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff in January 2020.

General Floros is fluent in English and holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and Strategic Studies, as well as a qualification in Strategic Analysis and Crisis Management. He has received all Greek decorations corresponding to his rank and the NATO Medal for Peace Support Operations.
